TO MAKE A PURCHASE
Making a purchase could not be easier. Just use our QUICK or ADVANCED search facilities to find a specific book, or browse our catalogue. Click on any items of interest to see full details and scanned images, then add them to your SHOPPING BASKET.
When you have made your selections, click on the BASKET and you will see the cost of your books, together with the Post & Packing charge due. You will then be asked for the delivery details required to complete your order.
You will automatically be transferred to the WorldPay site in order to enter your credit/debit card details. These details are NEVER made available to Timberbooks nor stored on our website. Once payment is complete you will receive an automatically-generated e-mail to confirm your purchases.
PAYMENTS
Payments for purchases on the timberbooks.co.uk website are processed by WorldPay. The credit / debit cards whose logos are shown at the bottom of this page are those which are accepted on this site.
If you are shopping from outside the UK then your credit/debit card company will automatically convert the transaction into your local currency.
TAX CHARGES
Books are zero-rated for purposes of the European Value Added Tax (VAT).
POST & PACKAGING
We DO NOT intend to make a profit from our Post & Packaging charges.
This website will automatically calculate the P&P charges for your order, based on the total weight of the order plus approximate cost of packaging materials.
We will always post out your book(s) within 48 hours of confirmed
payment, except in exceptional circumstances. We normally post them
even more quickly than this.
We will always e-mail you to confirm shipment.
UK deliveries
All orders for delivery within the UK will normally be posted by Royal Mail First Class Post. There is a minimum UK P&P charge of £1.25.
If you would prefer to collect your order from our shop rather than have it posted to you, you can choose the "United Kingdom - Shop Collection" delivery option at the Checkout. You will not then be charged any Post & Packaging fees. PLEASE allow at least 24 hours from confirmation of your order before collection, to enable us to bring your order to the shop if it is being stored at our warehouse location.
Overseas deliveries
All orders for delivery overseas will be sent by Royal Mail Airmail service. There is a maximum weight for this service of 5kg so if your order weighs more than 5kg, please split it into two or more orders. There is a minimum P&P charge for Europe of £1.50 and for the Rest of the World of £2.00.
AVAILABILITY
All books listed on this website are stocked in our shop in Scotland.
Very occasionally, despite our best efforts, books listed may become
unavailable, for example due to damage or theft. If this should happen
we will e-mail you to advise of the circumstances and make an immediate
refund of your payment.
RETURNS POLICY
Timberbooks is committed to providing each customer with the highest possible standard of service.
Sometimes, despite our very best efforts, things do go wrong.
Lost Post
We will always e-mail you to confirm shipment of your purchases, and we always obtain proof of postage.
If you do not receive delivery within the anticipated timeframe, please contact us and we will attempt to locate your package via the delivery service. If the package cannot be located* we will process a refund for you.
*Please note that Royal Mail will not permit a claim for lost post within the UK until 15 working days after the date of posting. For overseas post we cannot institute a claim until 25 days after the date of posting.
Inaccurate description
We try extremely hard to describe our books in detail and accurately. However, if you feel for any reason that the book you have purchased is not as we have described it, please advise us IMMEDIATELY in writing (by post or e-mail). We will explain how you should return the book for a full refund.
Distance Selling Regulations
If you just change your mind about your purchase, under the Government's Distance Selling Regulations, you have the right to cancel the contract and return goods within 7 working days. You must advise us in writing (by post or e-mail) and return the goods unused, properly packed and at your own expense.
