My Book in Bed #1: 'Mystery Man', Bateman

Updated: Feb 19, 2019

Just finished reading this - a first for me from this author - and thoroughly enjoyed his irreverent humour. Also absolutely loved the complete understanding of a booksellers' life at the start of Chapter 44:

"Bookselling is hard, ladies and gentlemen. It's relentless. The books just keep coming. Beans don't change, peas are peas are peas, but books are always evolving. There's bugger-alll profit, the hours are extraordinary, and the shoplifters are stupid, because you can just borrow the bloody things from the library. You can't borrow beans."

If you would like to buy a copy of this book, we don't have any in stock at the moment; but if you follow this link to Amazon and buy there you will still be supporting your local independent bookseller as we will receive a 5% fee from them. "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em!" - and as you now know "There's bugger-all profit' in what we do! Thank you.
